Project for Turbidity Removal in Drinking Water, Urrea de Jalón (Zaragoza, Spain)

2023-2024

At BIOBOX, we have implemented a turbidity removal plant for drinking water for the Urrea de Jalón Town Hall. This plant, designed to handle a flow rate of 66 GPM (15 m³/h), provides an efficient and automated solution for water management.

Turbidity Removal Plant for Drinking Water: Urrea de Jalón

BIOBOX has led the design, installation, and commissioning of a water treatment plant to remove turbidity and improve the quality of drinking water in the town of Urrea de Jalón, ensuring its potability up to the point of consumption. This fully automated plant has been designed in a compact container format, which facilitates its integration and operation.

Treatment Type: Turbidity Removal from Drinking Water

This particular plant consists of a three-stage treatment process:

  • Coagulation: In this first stage, small particles that cannot be efficiently removed through filtration alone are agglomerated.
  • Filtration: Using a specific process, this stage allows filtration rates that are more than 40% higher than conventional media. This results in highly effective removal of larger particles and a significant improvement in water clarity. Additionally, it achieves over 60% savings in operational costs (OPEX) compared to traditional technologies.
  • Chlorination: In the final stage, microorganism elimination is ensured, guaranteeing that the treated water is potable and safe for consumption.

The implementation of this plant in Urrea de Jalón ensures a constant and safe supply of drinking water, aligning innovation and technology in service of the community.
