BIOBOX joins the Aragon Climate Week 2023 to address climate adaptation in the Autonomous Community of Aragon and its fight against climate change.
About Aragón Climate Week 2023:
On 24 October, on the International Day against Climate Change, the third edition of the Aragon Climate Week was held in the Autonomous Community of Aragon. The main mission of this initiative is to engage and mobilise Aragonese society to act against climate change. This year, the focus was on climate action.
We are just a few weeks away from the United Nations Climate Change Conference. COP 28 will take place in the United Arab Emirates from 30 November to 12 December in the city of Dubai. In this context, Aragon has become the setting for a series of activities aimed at raising awareness of the problem of climate change. These activities include workshops, seminars and exhibitions, all of them related to the fight against climate change and organised by the Suma Acciones platform.
The AGORA Project:
The Ibercivis Foundation promoted a workshop as part of the AGORA project. AGORA is an ambitious project supported by HORIZON Europe, which began in January 2023 with the purpose of supporting the European Union Mission for Climate Change Adaptation. Within the framework of this project, a group of pilot regions has been selected to work together in creating, developing, and implementing solutions for climate change adaptation. These pilot regions include Germany (Dresden), Sweden (Malmö), Italy (Rome), and Spain (Zaragoza).
BIOBOX’s Participation:
The AGORA team contacted us as representatives of the private sector to participate in a workshop. The purpose of this workshop was to conduct a participatory diagnosis to better understand the vulnerability of the Aragón region to climate change and to identify the territory’s needs for effective climate change adaptation
During this workshop, the economic, social, and environmental consequences of climate change were addressed. It involved representatives from the public administration, the scientific community, civil society, and, of course, the private sector. Together, we analyzed the impacts faced in Aragón, such as water scarcity and desertification, and continued to investigate the identified impacts. This allowed us to present an overview, identifying the strengths and weaknesses that position Aragón in relation to these impacts, as well as the external threats and opportunities that we must consider.
We are proud to have contributed to this initiative and hope that the solutions proposed during this event will become a reality in the near future.

At BIOBOX, we are firmly committed to climate action. We will continue to actively collaborate in initiatives like Aragón Climate Week 2023 to build a more sustainable future.
